Experimental Art and Community Holiday

10th – 17th September

Five playful days of exploring your creativity through painting, collage, mark making and drawing

The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves.” C.G. Jung

Our experimental painting workshop will enable you to develop your perception and gain insight into your own unique creative practice, experiment with different mixed media materials as part of a group and take your own artistic endeavours forward.

The practice of observation of ‘what is’ enables you to bring awareness into the moment and experiment consciously with a range of art materials.

As much as it is fun working with art materials, the process will enhance access to your creative potential in your day to day life.

Each day begins with a short physical warm up and check in with the group. We begin art making with activities which loosen up our inhibitions, connect us as a group and allow for inspiration to emerge. These activities might include creating images using a word as a starting point; drawing with our non dominate hand, or making spontaneous drawings from life.

As experienced facilitators we are sensitive to participants needs, so the themes and content of our work may arise from the group or from observations among the rich nature which surround us.

Anyone can take part, regardless of experience.

There is no right or wrong, All you need is a willingness to explore and be open to what emerges.

All materials and equipment provided
