Costs of the various summer workshops vary from workshop to workshop. As a rough guide, prices range from £195/€250 to £450/€700 per week, depending on the particular workshop, the type of accommodation required (shared, double/twin, single or tent), and the season (mid-July through August is high season).

Some facilitators may offer bursaries. The Centre has a limited number of part bursaries, scholarships and work-exchanges. If you are interested to apply for a bursary please contact us.

Costs for children and non-workshop living-in-community guests can be found on the Families & Guests page.

Please note that although the workshop prices include meals and accommodation, they do not include flights or mandatory travel insurance.

There is a 5% reduction for booking two successive workshop/retreat weeks, and a 5% discount for early (90 days) full booking. There is also a 5% reduction if you are coming from outside of Greek border countries (or Italy) and travel overland thereby reducing our carbon footprint by avoiding jet aircraft pollution. Please visit seat61.com for tips on how to make the trip from London to Volos for about £200 via train, ferry and bus.

The prices shown include meals (buffet breakfast, picnic lunch box and six evening dinners (one evening/week we eat out at a local taverna, where a meal costs about £12/€13) and accommodation in a triple or quad room. Most workshops offer a 5-8% reduction for tent accommodation, providing that you bring your own tent, foam pad, sleeping bag, towel and (if desired) pillow. Please enquire. If you require a single room, this is usually possible for a £120-150/€150-225 supplement, although in some cases your room may be in a local guest house, about 5 minutes walk from the Centre. A £60/€75 supplement guarantees you a twin/double room and avoids the possibility of being in a triple or quad.

(The single room supplement runs about 50% higher in high season: from mid July through Aug.)

THERE ARE SPECIAL DISCOUNT PRICES FOR GREEKS, EAST EUROPEANS AND RESIDENTS OF OTHER COUNTRIES WHERE THE STANDARD OF LIVING IS CONSIDERABLY LOWER THAN IN THE DEVELOPED COUNTRIES OF N. EUROPE AND N. AMERICA. Please enquire

Please note that some workshop prices are quoted in both euros and pounds sterling. The sterling price applies to UK bookings only and, because of currency fluctuations, may not necessarily correspond to the current £/€ exchange rate.

Please do remember that travel insurance is a condition of booking to attend any of our programmes, either as a community guest, a staff volunteer, or a workshop participant. Please consult your local travel agent or insurance broker. Two weeks cover runs about €15.00. Click this link to read why travel insurance is important and how to get it no matter where you live.

REFUND POLICY: Workshop/retreat deposits and fees are fully refundable (less an 8% handling charge) up to 30 days before the start of a workshop. After that there is no refund, however, cancellers may apply their payment to any programme that season and the next season without predjudice.

Car Hire
If you are coming with a friend or a group of friends or are part of a family, please consider renting a car at Thessaloniki/Athens/Volos airports, or from Volos city. EasyJet have a car hire subsidiary, as does British Air. Some people are finding the best deals in 2010 at www.121carhire.com. A small car in July 2010 can be had for 7 days for about €200. Divided by 3 or 4 people this might work out to be affordable. It also gives you the opportunity of being more independent once you get to the Centre out at Pelion.
