Living-in-Community Weeks | Check Accomodation Availability
£195/€250Kalikalos is much more than a workshop centre. We are an international holistic education centre offering the opportunity of a beach holiday in the sun with a difference. As a living-in-community guest you mingle with us, sharing in our attunements, helping us once a week to cook our Greek vegetarian meals, swimming in the crystal clear Aegean sea, hiking the mountain trails, and above all making new friends who share the holistic perspective. This is truly “something deeper than a suntan”.
30. Jul - 13. Aug Family Fortnight & Living in Community Weeks I & II — Dorota Owen at Kissos Campus & Rosemary Hawksford at Anilio Campus Dorota and Rosemary have been educators in a variety of settings for over 15 years and have five children between them. Dorota facilitated the last two years' family experience weeks with Rosemary assisting, which included circle group sessions, meditation, song, dance, painting, walks, script writing and culminated in a cabaret performance. Each group is different and the activities are based on the group preferences. Come for a nourishing, inspiring family fortnight at either of our campuses. Families, couples and singles all welcome! £500/€550
13. Aug - 21. Aug Family & Community Living Week III — Steven Gasgarth £250/€275Explore the gifts that come from living, working, playing and sharing in a temporary yet fully authentic community. Today, we consciously need to reinvent cooperative and harmonious ways of living and relating together. Working, playing, learning and sharing together we discover and experience how we can come together as humans and live happily and sustainably into our future, helping to build a world where living our own truth counts. This week and the fortnight preceding it we specially welcome families with children of all ages.
27. Aug - 3. Sept Special LCG week with Transformation Game® option— Hanna Morjan £195/€250 This community week we have an experienced facilitator (see below) from the Findhorn community offering the Transformation Game® in a Box. Just as life is filled with a rich variety of experience, so is the Transformation Game®, a fun and complex board game which offers a playful yet substantial way of understanding and transforming key issues in your life and assisting you toward discovering your life purpose. Please note that the basic Community guest fee of £195/€250 does not include a €40/day supplement for any Game sessions that you choose to attend.
October 2010 Workcamp
24. Sept - 8. Oct Winding Down the Season — Facilitator to Be Announced The last week of September and the first week of October, with the weather crisp and clear, and the sea at its warmest, we finish any building left from the May work camp, pack up and store our temporary structures, mulch the gardens and close up the Centre. Its a time for community building, sharing and going inward with a gentle work rhythm as the season comes to an end. The beaches are still warm until 16:00 hr (4:00 pm) and we have them completely to ourselves. In the waning days of summer it's a magical time to be in Greece!
Facilitators in Residence
FIRs are available most every week offering very modestly priced ad hoc sessions in a variety of healing arts, 1-1 treatments, as well as free early morning yoga, tai chi or Qigong to Community Guests. Click the red link to see the current list of FIRs signed up so far for the 2010 season.
Living-in-Community Guests (LCG): The Affordable Alternative Holiday

Kalikalos holidays offer much more than workshops. Both our campuses are community-based holistic education Centres offering the opportunity to experience a holiday that is “something deeper than a suntan”, mingling with us, sharing in our attunements, swimming in the crystal clear Aegean sea, hiking the mountain trails, enjoying a meal at the Centre or a local Taverna, and making new friends who share the holistic perspective. Whether you come as a workshop participant, or simply as a guest for a relaxing yet meaningful vacation, you are bound to experience the power and beauty of this special region.
Living-in-Community (LCG) non-workshop participating guests are most welcome at both Kissos and Anilio campuses. The rate for full board is £195/€250 per week (£30/€40 per day). Children under 12 are half price. These low prices make the Kalikalos project an affordable alternative holiday for those who wish to experience this magnificent area staying in holistic community but are not particularly drawn to attending a workshop.
Beginning in 2010, we’ll have Facilitators in Residence (FIRs) available at both the Kissos and Anilio campuses offering a variety of holistic arts and disciplines to Community guests. These will range from Yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong through Painting and drawing to Voice work, meditation instruction and the Game of Transformation. Cost of these ad hoc sessions will range from about 25-40 euros depending on the length and type of session. Click the link to see the current list of FIRs signed up so far for the 2010 season.

Please note that LCG guests are considered full community members and therefore join in the essential cooking, clean-up and garden rotas that keep the campuses functioning. So your help is very much appreciated for joining one 2½ hour cooking shift in the week, a couple of 35 min. after-dinner clean-up shifts, and a 1½ hr gardening shift—5 to 6 hours of community service (aka karma yoga) in all. Actually it is the working together joyfully here in the kitchen, the gardens and homecare that is one of the most powerful community building tools we can offer you.
We ask our community guests to attend Saturday morning community meetings, where new guests, workshop leaders and participants introduce themselves, and LCG's are always welcome to join any non-workshop group activities, such as Qi Gong, Yoga and Tai Chi which occur regularly as well as our daily morning sharing (talking stick) circle. Our Living-in-Community guests themselves often offer their own skills and healing sessions on an ad hoc basic. Apart from scheduled group or staff meditations the universal sanctuary is open 24 hours a day for quiet contemplation.
The Centre provides one free daily (friday's excepted) transport in the Centre vehicles to and from local beaches, which are about 15 min away by car, or about an hour by foot down the mountain by donkey paths. Beach transport is normally coordinated to the ongoing workshop schedule. As LCG guests are not tied to the workshop schedule, those who are fairly fit often elect to walk to the beach (steep in places so hiking shoes or trainers recommended) at times of their own choice, and then return to the Centre later in the day on one of our pickup runs for workshops participants (typically 5:30 pm and 6:45 pm) or the local bus from Ag. Ioannis.
