James Eaton Leads a week of Non-Dualism Meetings in Greece
|
Advaita Satsang Week
Maybe we remember inspirational moments, such as looking up at the stars at night and feeling a deep sense of connectedness with all and everything…or maybe we sense a whisper of something familiar in our favourite music, works of art, poetry, something we’ve always known.
Or maybe we remember the magical quality of childhood, the fascination with ordinary things, the playfulness and ease when meeting other children, that incredible energy for life, that exuberance, that aliveness.
Or maybe we experience a period of unbearable sorrow, when our world as we know it simply falls apart. Whatever it may be the result is that deep in our hearts we feel as if something is missing, that there’s something more to life.
And so we go in search of that something more. But as long as our thought-based version of reality is believed in, that what we are is a separate inside self navigating its way through a separate outside world, our seeking can only fail. All we will ever find are more concepts, and what we long for can never be captured in a concept.
This message is about letting go of everything you think you know and free falling into a deep mystery: a mystery that is raw, spontaneous and vibrantly alive, where there are no boundaries or divisions to speak of. Without boundaries it’s freedom, without divisions it’s absolute intimacy…it’s love.
A mystery unknowable by thought, but known beyond thinking. A paradox. It is what we long for, because it’s what we are.
What You Are Can Never Be Captured in a Concept
Meeting with James is to be in an atmosphere of absolute acceptance, where we can feel safe enough for the patterns of protection to relax, for the obsession with thinking to lose its grip, for all our assumptions about the way life is to be seen through...and in that openness taste the joy, freedom and love that we already are.
Kalikalos' affordable (€250) Living-in-Community programme invites you to stay on a week before or after your retreat to relax and fully enjoy this special, unspoilt region of Greece. Book now!

About James Eaton

Whilst growing up James had a deep sense that something about life didn’t add up. Unsure about what exactly that something was he tried to ‘fit in’ and graduated in Maths from Oxford University. It didn’t work.
He then began seeking a resolution to a lingering sense of unfulfillment by writing songs, singing and playing in bands, then as an actor, then as a school teacher. But that didn’t work either.
On recognising that no matter what his outer circumstances were the feeling of longing and dissatisfaction still remained, the nature of seeking turned inward and James found himself following a variety of spiritual and therapeutic paths.
Despite providing many insights along the way these too ultimately failed to satisfy. He found himself drawn more and more to the question that no one seemed to be asking: “Who is doing all this?”
Finally James came across the non dual message with which there was an instant resonance. He met with many different teachers and seeking came to an end when the true nature of experiencing was clearly seen.
James now holds meetings in Totnes, UK where he lives with his partner and young son.

Kalikalos is run by and as a full community comprising the unpaid volunteer staffers and our guests. So, as a retreat participant you'll join the cooking team once in the week, and help occasionally with clean up, gardening or admin. The work is not onerous, about 6-7 hr of "Karma Yoga" in the week. This makes our programmes more affordable and helps us build community together.
