Silent Retreat with Julia Schlosser

Advaita Satsang Week
"The invitation here is to rest in the body and to be fully alive as who we truly are. This is my deepest love and ongoing inquiry. It is exploring whatever shows up from this gentle embodiment and discover a new perspective on life.” Julia
This week is about you. You, who you really are. Always here, never born, never to die.
I often say: If this recognition doesn‘t make a difference in my daily life, then I am not interested, then it is only philosophy.
This Retreat is not about philosophy at all!
Together we will find out what it looks like to live as love practically in our family, job, relationship. In sitting together confusion will drop and more clarity, simplicity and love will surface.
Truth is simple and our hearts already know it. A simple invitation is enough to remember.
There is magic in coming together in the same interest. The Meetings are a space for all of us to be consciously together, explore and share. There is a great feeling of safety and support that is created, which enables dropping deeper into our true being and meeting what we usually overlook. Once you have recognised yourself as being home the journey begins

Meeting Truth
The natural question now is: how to live as that?
In that exploration I love to include the body. The body is always here and now. By moving the attention from all that is keeping us preoccupied and focus for a moment at noticing what is happening in our system, through our bodies we open up for being here, present in the moment, in allowance with what it is.
We will start the day with yoga and meditation. That puts us in touch with the physical experience and quietens the mind. There will be two Meetings taking place daily leaving lots of time to hang out, relax and enjoy the beach.
You are invited to stay in verbal silence as much as practical between the Meetings. Not needing to speak is a rare opportunity and it gives space to the process. Being together with people of the same interest and free of our usual obligations and distractions, this combination is quite powerful and revealing.
You are welcome to join!
Testamonials
“Meetings that invite sharing and exploring anything that wants to be seen or heard, supported by genuine listening and the freedom to find our own, internal truth, provide a place for the soul to rest, be nurtured and find “home’. It couldn’t be better.” — Door F., Amsterdam, NL
“I feel the beautifully gentle way you directed the talk back to the body and the present moment was the magic. Also the way you shared your stories, your willingness to be vulnerable and natural created such a relaxation within for me...and opening to places I usually don't go, especially in a group setting.” — Suzanne R., Boston, USA
“Julia, you have such a warm and beautiful spirit and I learned so much from you in such a short time. I have been using the awareness techniques I learned each day since then and it has helped me tremendously! I cannot even express the difference it has made. I'm at such a peaceful place even in the midst of all the challenges in my life right now. Thank you from the depths of my heart.” — Sherri B., Atlanta, USA

About Julia Schlosser
Julia's interest to find out who we truly are started out quite early in her life. Her search carried her through Christian & Celtic traditions, healing, interconnection of body and mind, psychology.

She made the first experience of ‘being home’ in 1993. A recognition of peace and unconditional love, a knowing that there really is no problem kissed her. The experience left again, but the knowing of that reality never did.
At 26 she had finished studies as a social worker, several educations as a massage therapist and singer. Over the years she has developed a unique style of bodywork, which is known as The Schlosser Bodywork.
Meeting Isaac Shapiro in 2000 was the turning point. Very gently the perspective shifted and the outlook on life changed. Since then it is an ongoing exploration and profound integration. In the dance with her husband Florian Schlosser, who shares Truth since 11 years, this deepening is lived on a daily basis.
After having shared Meetings and Retreats together as a couple, she followed the request to be available for Meetings herself. Very down to earth, she invites the courage to look at the beauty as well as the abyss with gentleness and humor. As pioneers we together explore into new ways of how to be in life and still be true to ourselves. That's her invitation.

Kalikalos is run by and as a full community comprising the unpaid volunteer staffers and our guests. So, as a retreat participant you'll join the cooking team once in the week, and help occasionally with clean up, gardening or admin. The work is not onerous, about 6-7 hr of "Karma Yoga" in the week. This makes our programmes more affordable and helps us build community together.
