The Work of Byron Katie™Well Being Retreatwith Tamara Alferoff20 — 27 August £380 Kissos Campus |
Steps Toward a More Conscious and Loving Awareness of Yourself and Your WorldDo you ever:
During this Retreat, we will offer guided exercises from The Work of Byron Katie to enable you to identify, understand, and work with anxieties, patterns and beliefs you may have around body image, relationships, others' behaviour, health and disease, food, death, and survival, and those uncomfortable thoughts that can lead to fear, anxiety, resentment, dis-ease, pain and isolation.
Most of us have had similar beliefs: when we identify with these beliefs, we live our lives as though we are this, crippled, in pain, lonely, and contracted. Often we project these beliefs onto others as well—my parents didn’t love me, he is unkind, they should know better, she should lose weight, he is unattractive, old people are ugly and useless, the world is a cruel place... And we live in a world that matches our beliefs. From the moment we are born, certain expectations are placed on us by parents, peers, institutions, and the media, on how we should look, and how to stay ‘fit’ or ‘young’, how to be a boy or a girl, rules, insiders and outsiders. These strictures are not just about appearance or body image, but run very deep about how we experience ourselves as a man or as a woman being alive at all. Using the process of Inquiry created by Byron Katie, you can explore at your own pace some of these stressful, limiting beliefs, to find what is true for you, and to come home to your innocent, beautiful, peaceful self. In so doing, many have discovered the intense beauty and love at the heart of all that is, no longer separated by fear, judgements, or projections, and free to unfold in the presence of the love that you truly are. Some benefits
You can use the process to address any stressful thoughts that arise, about anything at all. It is as simple and as powerful as Four Questions and a Turnaround.
