Would you like to practise yoga in the open air, feel the natural warmth of the sun on your body, and enjoy relaxation in this tranquil area of Greece? Then come and share a week with like-minded souls. Throughout the week we will practise yoga in all its forms. Our typical yoga day will start in early morning sunshine with aasanas, the physical postures. To enhance the traditional postures we will explore yoga in nature. Imagine feeling the energy of a tree, seeing how it moves in tune with the breeze, how it bends when it needs to and is still when it can be. And use that knowledge deep inside ourselves when standing in Vrikshaasana, the tree pose.
After late breakfast and time for relaxation and the beach, we will have a late afternoon session. This will vary from day to day to give us chance to explore the many different avenues of yoga. Aasanas will always be included to continue increasing the flexibility of our bodies. We will try out some sequence yoga - putting yoga postures together into a sequence to create a type of yoga dance. We create and hold our inner stillness with meditation and pranayama (breathwork). Partner yoga enables us to get slightly deeper into postures, and usually have a good laugh at the same time. We will spend some time chanting (which people either seem to love or hate!), trying out different forms of chants and songs. All the skills that we share help us stay supple in both body and mind and keep us calm and centred in our busy world. By the end of the week you will have a sequence of yoga movements that you can take home with you to give you a good daily practice. Nature Yoga is suitable for both beginners to yoga and advanced students. Please note: Kalikalos offer a 10% discount for booking two successive workshop weeksAbout This Week's Facilitator
