Retreat in Not-Knowing

Meeting in Not-Knowing with Unmani is meeting the true nature of who you are beyond who you think you are. Unmani radically challenges any old beliefs and assumptions of a separate identity. Mind is so blown away that all that is left is the silence that you are. No more trying to fix ‘you’, and heal ‘you’. No more spiritual practices or traditions which will take ‘you’ years to perfect. No more working through your issues and conditioning. No more spiritual experiences which come and go. This is the end of the spiritual search. Really finding what you have been longing for. Recognising the true nature of who you are and seeing that this has always been and always is, absolute presence.
The Retreat in Not-Knowing with Unmani will consist of group meetings where there will be the opportunity to ask questions, share expression, laughter or just sit in silence. Unmani points to the nature of who you are in the silence as well as the words.
The retreat will follow pretty closely the usual rhythms of this Centre. Before breakfast we anticipate a few participants and/or Centre staff will offer stretching, Qi Qong, Tai Chi or Hatha Yoga. We will meet as a group from about 10am to 1 pm. In the afternoon I will be available for 1-1 interviews on the beach. On some evenings, we will meet again as a group from about 6 - 8pm before dinner.
Please remember that each of us will be on the dinner cooking rota (6pm - 8:30pm) and the dinner clean-up rota (approximately 9:15pm 9:50pm) once during the week. This, and leaving our rooms as clean as we found them on arrival, is our very minimal “Karma Yoga” for the week.
During the time I spent with her, there was the ‘recognition’ which is now seen to be what some people call ‘Awakening’ or ‘Liberation’. The recognition of the true nature of what I am. The absolute ordinariness of not-knowing. In this recognition, it was seen that this had always known this but simply been overlooked. I had become so used to overlooking it because it is always the background to this whole play of life. Once this was seen, there was only laughter and tears of gratitude—to Life.
What I am is not-knowing. And in not knowing, is absolute knowing. This is freedom.
Unmani is based in London but often travels to various countries to hold meetings (Satsang) and retreats. She is the author of the I am Life itself and is writing a second book at the moment. You can watch videos and listen to samples of meetings, as well as purchase I am Life itself and several CDs on from her website.
