About Victoria Field

Victoria Field works as a writer and poetry therapist in Cornwall. She has two collections of poetry: Olga’s Dreams, (2004) and Many Waters, (2006) the latter based on a ten month writers residency at Truro Cathedral. Hall for Cornwall have produced two of her plays and she is working on a third. Her poems and fiction have appeared in many magazines and anthologies and received several awards.

She trained as a Certified Poetry Therapist with the US-based National Association for Poetry Therapy. She also chaired Lapidus (the UK’s Association for the Literary Arts and Personal Development) and was a former Director of Survivors Poetry, promoting poetry by survivors of mental distress. She has co-edited two books on therapeutic writing: Writing Works (with Gillie Bolton and Kate Thompson, Jessica Kingsley, 2006) and Prompted to Write (with Zeeba Ansari, fal 2007).

Healing wordspriestess She is an experienced workshop facilitator and leads courses for writers in many different contexts. She firmly believes that creative words are for everyone and has worked with many different groups including young people and children of all ages, homeless people, people with learning disabilities and dementia, to create stories and poems.
