Emerging Desire: from Self to Community
with Angeliki Bitzaraki and Stella Topalidou
August 1 - 8, 2026
A Body/Movement Centered Group Process
August 1-8, 2026
Kalikalos Holistic Education Center, Anilio, Pelion
Now in its 13th year, our summer workshop returns to Pelion, where the sea, the forest and the warmth of the Kalikalos community offer a rare kind of spaciousness. It’s a place to settle, breathe and open.
This year we’re turning toward desire: the subtle, living force that moves through the body, stirs us into action and shapes the way we show up in the world.Desire is what we allow ourselves to become, what we’re creating in the present moment and what we project for ourselves in the future.
Angeliki Bitzaraki and Stella Topalidou will guide and hold the space to support the emergence of desire, the attunement to the senses and the vitality that animates our presence.
As we build a setting of safety, spaciousness and respect for individual needs, impulses, wishes and longings find the room to show themselves. From there, our attention naturally expands to the collective, to the places where personal desire can be enriched by shared vision.
Over the week we’ll explore:
• Listening to the body and trusting the movement that arises from within
• The surfacing of old, forgotten or not-yet-formed desires
• How body, emotion and thought continuously shape one another
• The shift from personal meaning to collective intention
• How individual and shared desires can meet and create new momentum
• Creative, compassionate and embodied ways of relating and expressing ourselves
Questions that will accompany our work:
What does the body truly long for? What remains dormant until we pay attention? What becomes possible when people share space, listening and presence? How can personal desire and vitality become a source of inspiration for the collective?
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for anyone in the process of redefining their goals and life direction and would like to do that by acknowledging, remembering or discovering their deep wishes and desires. For those who want to deepen body awareness, join community life and reconnect with nature and their own creativity. For people seeking meaningful encounters, renewal and a gentle shift that strengthens resilience both personally and collectively. For those in a period of personal exploration or transition who would benefit from a supportive group setting.
Approach & Methodology
Our work draws from:
• The Non-Directive Interventional (NDI) approach of M. Lobrot
• Dance/Movement Psychotherapy
• The Feldenkrais Method
• Somatic trauma and nervous-system approaches
(Somatic Experiencing, NARM, Polyvagal-informed work)
• Expressive arts through movement, craft, voice and sound
We will work within a setting that encourages safety, curiosity and new modes of presence, connection and creativity. The body will be our entry point into lived experience and into forming a shared field of meaning.
